No fatalities in California train derailment near Anderson
An Amtrak Coast Starlight derailed in six cars near Anderson California early today. Up to 80 passengers were injured but none seriously. The six rear cars of a 17 car train derailed about 3 48 a m one mile east of Anderson ten miles south of Redding. Three cars overturned and wreckage stretched 400 yards. The cause was not determined and the rest of the train was held for inspection before continuing to Oakland.
