Addis Ababa officials warn Haile Selassie would fall if he accepts the plan. They claim northern Tigre Province must stay under Ethiopian defense or chieftains will revolt, arguing native rulers could have defended the region.
Senator Borah of Idaho attacked the Franco British proposal to end the Italo Ethiopian war saying it would leave Mussolini as the most powerful figure in Europe and grant him more than he sought at the outset.
Paris and London officials propose a peace formula to end the Ethiopian conflict. The plan includes ceding Tigre to Italy with Aksum spared, transferring Ogaden and Danakil to Italy, and creating an Italian colonization zone while securing Ethiopian access to the sea. The AAA fixed a 2 777 000 bushel import quota for potatoes for the year starting December 1, with a 45 cent per bushel duty on imports beyond the quota and a 75 cent tariff in place. The measure covers 17 offshore areas and aims to curb imports while stabilizing domestic prices. Cuba receives a separate 23 071 bushel quota for March 1 to November 1936, contingent on its impact on the domestic market.

Findlay Dec 11. R E Clouser 20 of Fremont ordered to serve out a $25 fine and costs for reckless driving after pleading to jail time. John Van Doran 21 of Fremont wanted to go to jail with him, but the justice of the peace could not find a law allowing it.
Ohio lawmakers debated extending the food sales tax with a 1937 expiration, while the Senate seeks a faster passage for its own sales tax bill. The House proposed changes include township revenue, trade-in value for used autos, and broad food exemptions starting 1936. Senate and House also advanced appropriations and other bills amid budget veto disputes.
