Inactivation of the 906th Troop Carrier Group at Clinton County Air Force Base by Oct. 1, 1967, announced by the Defense Department, threatens local jobs and economic activity as units are reassigned.
Wright Patterson Air Force Base leads a six base reduction under the defense economy plan. B52s to be phased out and KC135s moved. 384 civilians and 1195 military to leave by Oct 1 1970. Other bases including Clinton County and Lockbourne see inactivations and job losses.
The Texas White House said President Johnson will fly to Washington for a December 14 to 15 conference with Pakistan President Ayub Khan. Moyers indicated a December 17 meeting with British Prime Minister Harold Wilson is likely, with possible December 19 to 20 talks with West German Chancellor Ludwig Erhard at the LBJ Ranch.
