Soviet Russia urged France to avoid any special political treaty before the Eastern Locarno pact with Germany. Paris aims to bring Germany and Russia into the eastern European securities framework to secure peace on Germany’s eastern front while Moscow prioritizes Far East Japan.
Senate investigators heard evidence that Du Pont shipped powder to Holland in 1929 for re export to China during an embargo on direct munitions to China. The inquiry also examined Remington Arms efforts to defeat embargo legislation in 1933 and a 1925 Geneva conference context. Senator Clark sparred with Irenee du Pont over the probe.
A blaze at Camp Adams CCC camp ten miles east of West Union destroyed all buildings except the headquarters. About 200 men, all Black, were unharmed. Captain C A Armstrong attributed the fire to overheated stove in one of the heated structures.

Stoll has led Mrs. Isabelle Stewart to identify Robinson in photos resembling a man masquerading as a woman after a recent facial and marcel at her parlor.
In SAULNIERVILLE Nova Scotia the motor vessel Cadet burned from stem to stern and her four crew members abandoned ship in St Marys Bay after an explosion ignited 1500 gallons of fuel oil.
