Hollywood AP reports homicide officers questioned friends of 22 year old TV actress Karyn Kupcinet, found nude and dead in her Sunset Strip apartment. Andrew Prine, her former boyfriend and Wide Country co star, said he knew nothing of the slaying but spoke with her recently. Investigators believe the murder occurred in the early hours Thursday.

Third-Timer Slain In Ohio Penitentiary

Earl Lee Kade of Toledo died in the prison industrial shop after a hammer strike. Inmate James Allan Blanton of Cincinnati, 24, held for investigation, had prior terms. Warden Ernie Maxwell reported the incident at the Ohio Penitentiary.

Broadcasting Magazine estimated that four days without commercials cost radio and television networks 25.6 million dollars while reporting on President Kennedy's assassination. The networks spent an additional 3.1 million dollars on coverage, the magazine said.

Ex-Con Slays Wife Clergyman and Self in Asheville Church

Walter H. Bailey 57 entered West Asheville Assembly of God Church during a Sunday service and killed his divorced wife Ruby Bailey 50 and the minister Rev Lester Cobb 44 before shooting himself. A church member described Bailey’s demand to see his ex-wife and his warning to others not to leave as the attack unfolded. Police report the double murder suicide occurred from a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun at close range.

Derailed Freight Cars Collapse Onto Bucyrus Vehicle

In Bucyrus Ohio two derailed freight cars plummeted from a trestle onto a passing vehicle injuring John Seis who suffered neck and head injuries. Fifteen of the 110 car Pennsylvania Railroad consist left the tracks on U.S. 30N with two cars overturning over the trestle. The highway was blocked through Sunday and was to be cleared today.
