Y M C A to Direct Army Welfare by Brigades
A Gar den City conference produced a plan for the International Y M C A to run all army welfare through brigade units. Each brigade will have a hut with five paid staffers plus volunteers to support writing, letters, entertainment, and spiritual work for soldiers. The effort aims to raise three million dollars and protect soldiers from alcohol and moral decline with homeward ties and religious guidance.
