Florence Fox daughter of Mr and Mrs William A Fox of 585 Longwood avenue Glencoe married Paul Martin Below in North Shore Methodist Episcopal church. The ceremony featured autumn flowers and candle light in one of Glencoe’s largest and most beautiful weddings.
George Schaefer of Wilmette received a gold watch from the Rotary Club as a tribute for lifesaving actions on October 11 1925 rescuing two women off the Kenilworth shore. He previously earned a $100 village award and is known for heroic service amid local press attention.
North Shore Community Organ Concerts announce the second program of the season to be held Tuesday November 17 at 8 at St. Luke's Church Evanston. Herbert E. Hyde performs assisted by Mrs. Sydnie Smith Cooley contralto. Repertoire includes Wesley Choral Song and Fugue Couperin Soeur Monique Guilmant light pieces Bach St Anne Fugue and Lemmens Franfare. Mrs. Cooley offers two Brahms numbers Tschaikowsky and three other selections. Admission is free.
About 500 members of the Chicago chapter attended a tea at the Casino club hosted by Mrs. George A. McKinlock and Miss Muriel McCormick. The event, held 3 to 6 pm, aimed to boost enthusiasm for the Armistice Day to Thanksgiving Red Cross drive and included overseas and domestic World War workers among the guests. North shore residents were noted as among those present.
