Push plans for new North Shore highway
Representatives of resort shore communities and Cook County planning officials convened in Wilmette to push an early through highway running west of the Chicago and North Western tracks. The plan calls for 100 foot wide rights of way with substantial paving costs apportioned among Winnetka Glencoe Wilmette Kenilworth and others, the total estimated cost around 1.386 million dollars. Condemnation actions proceed in several towns as the route advances toward state and county highway departments.
