Mrs Henry Cutler chairman appeals for a small table to aid the Economy Shop run by the Wilmette Woman's club. The shop accepts items to support charity and reports higher demand for mason jars than supply.
Kenilworth will skip its annual Fourth of July celebration citing prohibitive costs and many residents planning outings beyond the village program this year. The Kenilworth club, long sponsor, noted expense and community timing influenced the decision.
The National League of Women Voters keeps headquarters at Congress hotel Chicago during the Democratic convention as it did at the Republican. Cook county leagues supply hostesses with Mrs. A. R. Hodge and Mrs. E. F. Snydacker named from the Kenilworth league.
Mrs. Marguerite Calkins Taylor of 400 Eighth Street left Wilmette on June 26 to Delafield Wisconsin to lead interior decoration and handicraft instruction at Camp Nagawicka’s girls summer school.
The Evanston Community Recreation Association announces a new fee schedule for the community golf links along the Drainage Canal. Regular 18 holes cost 50 cents except weekends and holidays. The second 18 holes cost 25 cents. Weekend and holiday daytime rate is 1 dollar until 11 am Saturday, then 50 cents after 5 pm on weekends and holidays. No half price for second 18 holes.
Eugene Hildebrand Jr hosted three Wilmette friends Robert Kavanagh Walter Mockler and Clark Gapen for ten days at Hilde's Roost on McKinley Lake Wisconsin. They returned home by car last Tuesday and will return in August to stay until Labor Day.
