Wilmette Summer Playground Plans Announced
Wilmette opens summer playgrounds June 16 with three daily sessions at Central school Wattman Park and Village Green. Instructors will lead sewing sandcraft athletic contests poster making and story telling as part of a village wide program. New staff include Miss Jacobs and Miss Bierer. Mrs Fanckbauer remains at Village Green until Miss Bierer starts.

Fire Damages Fred Rohn Residence in Wilmette
Fire Chief Zibble estimates four thousand dollars in damage to the Fred H. Rohn home at 139 Linden avenue Wilmette after a blaze caused by a defective fireplace Saturday noon. The first and second floors were badly damaged. The next day a car owned by Tom Kirkwood at 2700 Lake avenue burned before firemen arrived.

Dr Martin Seifert Leaves Wilmette Pharmacy to Practice Medicine
Dr Martin Seifert of 627 Eleventh street Wilmette ends eight years with Snider Care Drug company and departs as a registered pharmacist. He is among 200 graduates from the University of Illinois School of Medicine and will begin an internship at Evanston hospital on July 1. He taught at the university pharmacy school and plans to practice on the north shore. He belongs to Phi Chi and Pi Kappa Epsilon.

Stiles Resigns Wilmette Bank Post for Chicago Warehouse Job
Dan G. Stiles resigns as vice president and cashier of the First National Bank of Wilmette effective June 14 to join a large Chicago warehouse group. He will remain a bank director and resident of Wilmette. Stiles joined Wilmette institutions in 1920 and First National Bank in 1927. He helped lead civic efforts including the Community Chest, Boy Scouts, and founding the Wilmette Rotary Club. No successor announced.

New Trier Summer School Opens June 16 At No Cost
New Trier High School’s eleventh summer session begins Monday June 16 and runs eight weeks. About thirty teachers from the regular staff will instruct in English mathematics history science language commerce and more. Registration is not finished but director W I Brown expects a larger enrollment than before. Classes meet mornings with no Saturday sessions.

39 Joseph Sears Pupils to Get Diplomas Today
The Joseph Sears school in Kenilworth will hold commencement at 2 30 PM in the Kenilworth Memorial gymnasium. Thirty nine eighth grade pupils will be graduated with Supt F I Nygaard presenting the class and Arthur T McIntosh delivering diplomas as president of the Kenilworth board of education.
