Surprise in Store at Wilmette Chamber Luncheon
The Wilmette Chamber of Commerce will hold its next monthly luncheon on Monday February 6 at Weeks dining room. Secretary B T Clark says there will be a surprise entertainment feature in addition to the brief business program. The nature of the entertainment remains unrevealed until the day of the meeting. Sixty people attended the January gathering.

Burglary at Frank Schaedler Residence on Sheridan Road
Wilmette police report says burglars entered 301 Sheridan Road last Friday afternoon through a basement window while the family was away. Stolen items valued at $765 include an Oriental rug, piano covers, radio covers, several vases and other valuables.

Bank Will Pay Dividend Soon After Wilmette Bank Closure
Depositors in the defunct First National Bank of Wilmette may receive a dividend soon, according to receiver Melvin B. Ericson. From June 24 to December 31, 1932, $163,407.64 was collected, reduced to $20,914.61 after secured claims. The bank’s liquidation remains slow due to prior condition and alleged irregularities by two junior officers, with over $60,000 in uncollected funds. Total assets appear to exceed liabilities, but many assets are doubtful or undervalued, including $958,668.04 in notes and bonds and $250,000 in notes. Stock assessments yielding only $16,653 so far will force strong action against stockholders.
