Sunday worship at 11 with 10:45 organ prelude and introit. Choirs, youth groups, and church schools meet across morning and evening sessions. Lent services begin Ash Wednesday March 2 with memberships, classes, and a March 1 apron sale. Evening programs include Spokes, Girl and Boy Scouts, and a February 25 benefit opera.
The Ninth Street First Presbyterian Church will host Sunday morning worship at 11 o clock with minister James T Veneklasen delivering the sermon Will the Golden Age Come Again The musical program organized by Erma Rounds organist and director features an organ prelude Prayer Lohengrin Wagner and more as readied for the service.
The English Lutheran Church on Seventh Street at Greenleaf led by Rev. David R. Kabele announces Sunday worship at 11 a.m. with morning service and music. Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Junior Luther League at 3 p.m. Senior Luther League at 5:30 p.m. Choir rehearsals scheduled Thursday and Saturday. Woman's Society meets Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mrs. D Lightner 717 Greenleaf Ave Wilmette. Confirmation class Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
Dr. Herbert L. Willett will preach on Man the Atom and the Master at 11 o'clock Sunday February 20 at Kenilworth Union Church. Music features Corelli Anthem Come Holy Spirit and Van der Water The Publican with solo by Miss Ames. Woman's Guild meets February 21 at 10. Sunday school gathers at 9:45 with classes for all ages. visitors welcome.
On Sunday February 20 Wilmette Baptist at Wilmette and Forest avenues holds church school at 10 with morning worship at 11 led by Rev. George D. Allison. Superintendent Joseph D. Dingle will thank teachers and workers. a reconsecration service follows with music and singing. The church notes stronger attendance and solid teaching. A Baptist Children's Workers conference is set for February 24 at Austin Baptist church with Pearl Rosser in charge.
The Wilmette church hosts a concert featuring sacred and secular numbers including original works. Lydia Koch directs and plays organ. Apollo Male Quartet will attend as visiting artists. A Men’s Day is planned in Jubilee services, with a buffet supper by the Woman's Society on Friday evening February 25. Newcomers are welcome.
Dr. Hubert Carleton presides as rector. Sexagesima Sunday events include Holy Communion at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. sermon with morning prayer. Vestry meeting set for February 21 at 8 p.m. St Matthew's day on February 23 with 8 a.m. Holy Communion. Washington's Birthday celebration on February 22 features a diocesan gathering at St James Chicago with breakfast and a talk by Bishoy Stewart and Paul Rusch.
