Cook County to revalue all real estate by April 1 1929
The Cook County Board of Review announced a full revaluation and reassessment of every real estate parcel as of April 1 1929. Officials say downward shifts in land and building values since 1928 will lift 1929 tax bills by about 20 percent unless budgets are cut and assessments reduced.

Tuberculosis Case Reported In Wilmette This Week
One new tuberculosis case was reported in Wilmette for the week ending Tuesday December 23. The report lists four new and one old mumps, two new and five old scarlet fever, two new and three old whooping cough, and one new diphtheria case. The diphtheria case involved a student who contracted the illness elsewhere and returned home for holidays.
