The Rev. David R. Kabele leads services with Communion next Sunday at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. The church school meets at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages. Christmas programs and choir rehearsals are announced through December 24 and 25 with a Midnight service and early morning Christmas Day worship.
Winnetka Bible Church at 886 Elm Street lists services for December 17 with 9:45 a.m. Bible School and 11:00 a.m. Morning Worship on the theme Christ as Seen in the Burnt Offering. Evening activities include Young People's Fellowship and Organ Meditations. A pantomime Christmas program is planned for Thursday evening.
The Rev. Leland Hobart Danforth presides at Holy Communion on the third Sunday in Advent at Holy Comforter Kenilworth Ave and Warwick Road. Services include organ Prelude Revenue and anthem Send Forth Th TAGNGS with choir led by John Thomas Choirmaster and Virginia Knapp Organist.
Wilmette Methodist opens Sunday December 17 with sermon Heading into Hope. Services include organ preludes and a sequence of special music pieces by Bach Dubois Handel and others. Church activities feature church school Theta Upsilon Rho and Epworth league events, Christmas Vesper, village carol sing and Lake Bluff orphanage outreach notes.
Church holds worship at 11. A sacred concert with Communion Meditation and the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper follows at 4. Scout Troops meet: Boy Scout 3 on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. Girl Scout 2 on Thursdays at 3:45. Girl Scout 4 on Tuesdays at 3:45.
The church announces a Christmas contribution featuring organ music solos duets and choruses. Reservations are already flowing for the annual Young People's banquet on December 27 with music a play group singing an address by Rev. Evan Welsh Wheaton and a consecration service.
The Rev. Hubert Carleton and Rev. Chandler Sterling announce parish events at New Trier High School. Festivities include a Christmas service at 4 and 8 PM in Leslie Gates gym, plus rehearsals, choir meetings, Boy Scouts, guild, and confirmation classes through December 19 in the parish house.

St John’s Lutheran of Wilmette and Park avenues led by Pastor J H Gockel announces services at 9 15 a m 9 30 a m and 11 a m with a 11 o clock service featuring Messiah selections and a sermon on John the Baptist Why should the Lord have permitted a godless king to kill His messenger The Sunday school plans a Christmas Eve program and a carol service is set for 6 30 a m with festival services at 9 15 and 11 a m Christmas Day
John G Hindley will deliver Guild Day sermon on From Bedlam to Bethlehem at First Congregational with Alexander Ferguson directing religious education. Music includes Handel The Messiah selections and Noel by Dubois Guilmant with Emily Roberts soloist and Harold Lovejoy chorus. Calendar lists Guild events and scouts programs through December 20.
