Village board opens bids for 24 inch water main

At Tuesday night meeting the village board opened twelve bids for a 24 inch water main extension from the new waterworks to Ridge road along Lake avenue. Bids included pipe fittings and connections with five alternates. total cost estimated about 85000 dollars and action was deferred for full consideration until Saturday at 3 PM.

The Wilmette center of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Wilmette Woman's club on Monday December 11 at 2 o'clock. The date moved up from the third to the second Monday for the holidays. An election of officers will occur, and last meeting raised funds for Christmas baskets.

Public Hearing Set on Wilmette Ave Widening

Village board ordered a public hearing on widening and paving Wilmette Avenue from Park Avenue West to Ridge Road. The hearing is Friday December 15 at 8 p m in the Village Hall. The plan originates with the Cook County Department of Highways and if approved by residents the county will pay, but the improved section would become a state road.
