County treasurer files petitions under the Kerner Skarda Act to obtain receivers for income producing properties with nearly 41 000 in delinquent taxes across fifteen Wilmette properties. Additional filings include twelve more Wilmette properties with over 14 000 in delinquent taxes. January 31 is the deadline to seek relief from penalties under House Bill No 209, with current and prior year taxes to be paid in full first to qualify for relief.

Propose Ambitious Street Improvement
Trustee George F. Iliff announced a 1936 street fund of about 35000 from the state gasoline tax for arterial and state highway repairs. The village board authorized Manager Bayne H. Wilmette to Start Safety School for Drivers
Wilmette officials instructed Chief Cloyd C. McGuire to launch a safety school for automobile drivers with December sessions. Commercial drivers and chauffeurs will enroll first, then other car operators. The program will feature talks by traffic engineers and safety leaders, demonstrations, and seek Boy Scouts and American Legion cooperation to curb fatalities reported at 36,000 nationwide last year.
