Young De Graff Man Severely Injured In Train Accident
Harry Simmons a ten year old from De Graff suffered a brutal accident Monday night when a work train backing up near the Cargill elevator struck him. He lost an arm and a leg, was carried to Benson for care, and died Thursday afternoon after two surgeries failed. His father, a railroad worker, was at his side.

Lost household goods: Benson fire affects Mr and Mrs Rozum. A Benson Monitor report details a Tuesday morning fire at a double house in Benson, owned by Swan Sandstrom, with Rozum’s room heavily damaged by fire and water. Rozum’s packing crates and furniture suffered heavy loss. Sandstrom’s portion largely spared. Rozum’s move to Marlon, Iowa, was interrupted by misfortune and loss. Mrs Rozum, formerly Lizzie Hunter, is sister to Chas McLaughlin. Hulde Hints notes a Willmar visitor.
