Orders to move the First and Second North Dakota regiments to Camp Greene Charlotte were issued by Col Fraine and Col White with seven trains needed for 3581 men 90 officers. Units from multiple North Dakota towns will be ferried via Great Northern Northern Pacific and Soo lines to St Paul with guards in tourist sleepers and diners via Chicago and Cincinnati.

Soldier's Marriage Annulled By Court In North Dakota
Judge Frank E. Fisk annulled the marriage of Joseph Burnham 82 a private in Company E first regiment North Dakota National Guard and Arvilla Randall 14 of Williston following a picnic wedding August 25 in Schafer North Carolina. The license had been issued on affidavit claiming legal age. The mother Mrs. Alice Randall filed the matter with juvenile court officials ending the union. Burnham said he believed the bride was of legal age.

Man Shoots Self to Evade Service Near Watford
Paul J. Balliette died by suicide at his home three miles southwest of Watford around noon Friday. He left a note to his wife blaming government seizure of property for forcing him to fight, and left instructions on debts and disposal of property. Coroner Hinman reported his mind was unbalanced and no inquest was needed.

Kenmare school case favors bank in district decision
Judge Fisk of Williams county ruled for the defendants in the three year old Kenmare case. The district had paid the First National Bank of Kenmare $10,000 on a $17,000 judgment to reimburse warrants cashed earlier. P M Cole and others had challenged the judgment as illegal and fraudulent, with funds previously tied up by a restraining order. The judge released the restrained money after finding for the bank and district.

This week September 24 to 30 is Library War Fund Week nationwide to raise one million dollars for library buildings in 32 camps. Prisoner Bartlett Breaks Jail Then Is Recaptured
Al Bartlett of Williams County jail slipped away Monday afternoon while in custody for grand larceny. He fled after being left briefly with Jailor Lauritson, racing to First Avenue East and the Pontoon bridge before deputies recaptured him at the south ferry while attempting to board a freight. Bartlett, a Canada resident, faces theft charges from a spree involving a friend’s money and valuables.
