Hampshire Sheep for Experimental Station

Supt. Chas. H. Ruzicka of the Williston Experiment Station has returned from visits with Prof. W. H. Peters to purchase a foundation Hampshire flock for Williston. He aims to establish a small breeding stock on farms across northwestern North Dakota to leverage alfalfa feed and rising wool and lamb prices, with early stock arriving this week for farmers.

Williston Schools Honor New Soldier

A joint assembly at Williston high schools celebrated Albert Guggedahl headed to Fort Dodge and Des Moines for military service. Speakers included Miss Gill and Mr. White while students enrolled in Co. E and the navy at Annapolis were noted. The event praised wartime duty and school spirit among more than three hundred pupils.

Williston High Readies for State Gridiron Title

Williston High School plans two full teams under Coach J P Cutting as they pursue the state football title. The squad, backed by Superintendent White, hopes to play Grand Forks and Fargo within two seasons, with a home opener win over the Alumni 9 to 7 shown by a first-quarter safety and a late student drive led by Jaynes.

Montana artist jailed in North Dakota county jail gains fame

A 24 year old Montana man Joseph Breckenridge is serving 90 days for violating state bone-dry laws. While in jail in North Dakota he develops a notable art talent painting western scenes. His watercolors and pen and ink sketches draw buyers locally and from tourists. a Chicago woman recently purchased his work.

Second Quota Soldiers Leave Camp Dodge Today

Sudden Death of Peter Knudson in Williston

Peter Knudson a Williston farmer died suddenly Wednesday morning from a ruptured artery suffered during a coursing fit. He was about 41, in good health Tuesday night, and leaves a wife and four children. Funeral set for 2:00 PM Saturday with Rev. Monson in charge.
