Mrs Olson Died After Diphtheria Attack in Williston

Mrs E B Olson wife of Sheriff E B Olson died after two weeks illness from black diphtheria followed by heart and throat paralysis. She was 22 born in Chicago February 8 1900 moved to Williston 1907 married 1909, member of Episcopal church. Survived by husband two children parents and siblings. Funeral set for Monday at Library Hall with a music program.

Editor K B Myers Ends His Life In North Dakota

Lansford Sept 16 K B Myers publisher of the Maxbass Monitor shot himself at Newburg this morning. His affairs were in good shape and no motive is found. He has a Canadian judge brother and another brother in Canadian papers. A son was born Wednesday to Mr and Mrs Charles Similar near Williston.

Boys Killed at Crossing Near Springbrook

Two young men Lloyd Gilmore Erickson and Ray Boyer were struck and killed by a Great Northern train at a Springbrook crossing near Williston. The incident left Erickson instantly dead and Boyer severely injured, dying the next morning. Funeral services were held in Springbrook and Williston with local choirs providing music. The crossing, surrounded by stacked cars and buildings, is described as highly dangerous due to limited visibility and a curved main track.

Congregational Church Services and Activities Ahead

The Congregational Church announces 10 30 A M and 8 P M services next Sunday with sermons by the pastor and special music by the choir. Bible School at 11 45 and Y P S C E at 7 16. Evangelist Taylor Assists Hollett in County Meetings

Rev. T M Taylor joins Rev. Hollett in county work through conference week. Next Sunday Taylor preaches at Garden Valley 11 am and Spring Coulee 3 pm with evening services daily next week and Sunday September 29 all day. Cunningham coal land claims finally settled in Washington

The interior department has disposed of all twenty three Cunningham coal land claims linked to the Ballinger Pinchot controversy. Appeals were adverse and Secretary Fisher ordered execution of Commissioner Dennett’s cancellation of the entries. No Cunningham claims remain pending though similar Alaska claims are reviewed. The cases involved a 5250 acre aggregate area and high value, with ties alleged to the Morgan Guggenheim syndicate. The controversy coincided with dismissals including Chief Forester Pinchot and Louis Glavis.
