Library Drive Aims To Raise One Million For Soldiers
Miss Bessie Baldwin of the James Memorial Library will partner with the American Library Association to raise a fund of one million dollars or more. The money finances Cantonment and Training Camp Libraries for soldiers in 32 cantonments and at naval stations, ships, and hospitals. The effort stems from President Wilson era programs and supports 250 deposit stations and traveling libraries via Y M C A welfare groups and similar agencies. The second feature notes the Orpheum hippodrome vaudeville bill with Guess Try and Guess leading, Frarington and Cornell offering novelty comedy and song.
