Freight collision damages switch engine. no injuries
A small freight wreck occurred in the local yards at about ten o clock last Sunday evening. An eastbound freight collided with a switch engine in the eastern yards, badly damaging the switch engine and buckling a mid train freight car. the freight locomotive suffered only a broken cowcatcher. No injuries were reported.
Wreck on Great Northern Kills One and Injures Four
A westbound pay and supply train and an eastbound local freight collided west of Culbertson Montana on Monday at speed. Fireman Arthur Oberts was killed instantly. Walter Gibson lost his right arm. H Hanson suffered severe arm injuries. William Keyes and William Parkey were also hurt. Both crews were shaken. one engine and several cars were wrecked. Cause unknown though both trains claimed right of way. Traffic halted for hours. Oberts’ home is in Texas.

River front work eyed with $3,000 brush cost and 9000 feet plan
Major Deakayne of the War Department discussed additional Missouri River reverement along the Williston river front this winter. He said the department would add about 9000 feet of work if the city provides brush and the railroad supplies the stone, with total project cost near 30,000 dollars and city railway cooperation likely. Plans also call for similar river improvements at Bismarck this winter with an estimated 80,000 dollar cost.

Pleasant Surprise at Congregational Parsonage Evening
About seventy five people arrived Friday evening at the Congregational parsonage armed with chairs and gifts. They entered hospitably and spent the night in informal entertainment with Rev. Hay Carrier Injury on Ray Farm
John Skarage was severely injured when his hand was caught in a hay carrier on a Ray area farm last Wednesday forenoon. The fingers were cut to ribbons and the forefinger bone smashed. He was taken to Ray where the broken bones were set and wounds dressed. full use of the hand will take some time.
