Ben Olson, Republican nominee for Williams County sheriff, born March 8, 1876 in Lodi Wisconsin. He moved to Churches Ferry in 1893, attended the State University while teaching for funds, served as chief deputy to Sheriff E L Beaverstad, worked at Hedderich's store and Boyd's as a machine salesman, and was nominated at the June 24 Republican primary.

Burned at Minot Mother of Chief of Police Dies

Mrs. Hennighan sixty five mother of Minot's chief of police was accidentally burned to death Thursday afternoon while protecting her hand with an apron. The flames spread to her clothing and she died a few hours later. Funeral services were held in Minot Monday.
