Leonard K. Backhoff a Minot resident and advance man for the Austin Vaudeville company was robbed of $20 aboard a Pullman car near Sawyer. Three suspects identified as Harry Woods Fred Myers and Harry Parker are jailed awaiting a hearing with no guns found on them.

Fast Train Cuts Seattle Run By Great Northern

Body of A H Sheppard Found On Missouri River
The body of government engineer A H Sheppard, drowned a week earlier, was seen drifting at dusk Monday near the Muddy ferry. Jacob Kluth stopped the body, ferried it to shore, and Coroner Thomas prepared it for shipment to Fairfield Nebraska. Recovered on the river were 73 83, a watch and a notebook. W H Sheppard was notified by wire and will travel to collect the body and burial arrangements follow.

Chartered boat to haul grain on Yellowstone River
R J Walker of this city has chartered the steamboat City of Opportunity on the Yellowstone and will haul grain from Williston down the river. Attention will be given mainly to the McKenzie county side. The boat arrives Saturday and begins trips Saturday afternoon or Sunday. Initial shipments likely near Banks, with Nelson flats and McKenzie side grain also targeted. He will accompany the boat and pay for grain as loaded, aiding farmers who currently must haul grain long distances to market.

Two armed bandits robbed the Citizens National Bank of Glenwood Springs of 10 000 dollars in broad daylight as a crowd swelled outside. They forced cash from the safe, fled rear exits on horses toward the mountains, and authorities tracked them along the old Jackson's Hole trail toward Mexico. One horse was shot during the pursuit.

Savoy Mont Townsite Opens Attended by Milk River Valley
The opening sale of Savoy Montana townsite occurred Monday October 4 with a large turnout from nearby towns. Great Northern offered special trains so attendees could arrive by noon and leave by evening. The first lot sold for 815 dollars to Beechre of Grand Forks North Dakota and H N Tallman of Wellman Minnesota who will start the First National Bank of Savoy. Several Main street business lots sold for 500 to 750 dollars. A North Dakota company plans a pressed brick plant and to supply 1,500,000 bricks for the sugar factory. Factory foundation work to begin this month as Sugar Company officials pursue 1910 beet contracts.
