First Draft Lottery Numbers Drawn by Wilson in Washington

President Wilson initiated the draft lottery for 13,000,000 registrants enrolled September 12. The process began with a ceremonial drawing of capsule slips, yielding number 322 as the first target for a local board. The event drew notable participants and proceeded through the afternoon and night as the master lists were prepared for district boards.

R C Officers Elected For Coming Year

At the Williston Armory a meeting elected the Williston Red Cross officers for the coming year. G. B. Metzger will chair with Mrs. G. D. Hedderich as vice chair and O. J. Helland as treasurer, Mrs. B. J. Schoregge as secretary, and Howard Lampman as director.
