In Burlington, Iowa, Sherman Elliott who deserted from the U S Army is captured and sent to Fort Madison. Train breaks in two injuring several in Baraboo
Nov 12 Baraboo Wis accommodation train No 89 on the Chicago Northwestern broke in two while descending a steep grade from Devils Lake. The rear end crashed into the dead end throwing passengers about the caboose. Several suffered leg injuries and to scalp wounds. Charles Dyke assistant cashier Bank of Baraboo was carried home unconscious. Conductor Michael Sharren and Brakeman Tucker also hurt.

Prima Donna Sulu Actress Has Timepiece Lodged In Intestines
In Quincy on November 12 the prima donna Berri of the Sulu company was rushed to a physician after severe abdominal pains. An X ray revealed a Swiss timepiece the size of a quarter inside her intestines. She had fallen asleep with the watch in her hand the night before in Keokuk and it went missing. She will be incapacitated for several days but left the city.
