Williston High Sets Week of Commencement Events
A May nineteenth week of services and gatherings marks Williston High School commencement. Dr Thomas F Kane new University of North Dakota president delivers the commencement address. Twenty eight seniors graduate this year, just one short of last year's record. Programs run Sunday through Wednesday with open attendance and a community baccalaureate, class night program, and honors ceremonies.

Football champions receive monograms at year end assembly
The closing assembly of the Junior and Senior High Schools honored the football squad for winning the state title and upholding clean sportsmanship. Williston Visit of National Army Captain Jones
Captain Jones now a captain in the medical corps arrived in Williston Monday evening for a few days before leaving for foreign service. He has been stationed at Fort Riley for two to three months and praises the army branch. He notes thousands of physicians at Fort Riley and several base hospitals and compares young camp doctors to college boys after a week in service. Rev. E S Shaw, former Williston Congregational pastor, spent Friday and Saturday here visiting war relief fundraising efforts in Montana.

Decoration Day Program Set For May 30
Decoration Day services will be held May 30 in the Armory under the direction of the Home Guards. An invitation extends to Civil and Spanish American War veterans, all school children, lodges, and organizations to participate. A full program will be published next week. The day grows as a world wide holiday with renewed interest since the war. The French will join with Americans in commemorating the day.

Nineteen Boys Leave for Camp Logan from Williams and McKenzie
Nineteen boys from Williams county and about as many from McKenzie county left here last Saturday for Camp Logan Colorado. A patriotic Armory meeting featured Rev Hitchcock, after which the boys were escorted to the train by the band and Home Guards in new uniforms. Elks plan Flag Day events June 14 with a large parade at 2 PM and a program at the Armory, followed by dances to benefit the Red Cross.

The Norwegian American Lutheran Church of Williston changes its name to First Lutheran Church. The switch follows a monthly meeting held last week and reflects the long formal name’s length. the church was organized in 1912 under the old title. Frank B.
