Memo rial Day observance urged with services to honor dead heroes and foster patriotism. a meeting proposed to plan ceremonies and inspire participation.

Applications were reviewed and several teachers hired including E B Brownson as principal at 100 per month and Anna Murphy Laura Johnson Ells Denning Julia Carlson Carrie T Attebery for multiple grades. school term fixed at nine months starting September 1902. An election for a board member to fill Snider's seat was set for June 17 1902. The meeting adjourned. Instructions from Poultry Monthly prescribe a saturate solution of fresh flake mace in high test kerosene. Dip birds weekly, removing loose scales, avoiding skin, and color with Venetian red to identify treated legs. Cautions warn kerosene can blister or kill if mishandled. Also a brief note reports a Janesville man revived after ten minutes under water, forty minutes to reach home.
