Life Sketch of Colonel Alex Scarlett of Minot
Col. Alex Scarlett a respected Northwest figure died at Minot on May 8. Born Aberdeen Scotland April 11 1843 he served in the Canadian mounted police and volunteers and held the Victorian Cross. He lived in Minot twelve years as a businessman and humane officer, leaving a widow and one son. He was active in Knights of Pythias Elks and Blue Lodge Masons and known for charity and kindness to animals.
