Modern Apartments LaDue Flats to Rise in City
A contract was let last Saturday for the LaDue Flats, a modern apartment building on the northwest corner of Washington and Broadway. Designed by R. B. Stacy-Judd, the $39,950 structure will be the state’s first metal lumber building with fireproof walls and steel floors. Each apartment will have sanitary wall beds, built-in dressers, electric stoves, ice box service, a basement laundry, a delicatessen, and front door control. The project aims to attract local families preferring modern conveniences to detached houses.
