Encampment Organized Friday in Williston
The Odd Fellows of Williston formed Encampment No. 23 on Friday with 58 initiates, creating the largest encampment in the state. Dr. H. J. Lowe arrived and officers were elected as banquets and degree work followed at the court house and hall.Dr. Rowe praised the new Williston encampment and plans for a Canton this summer were announced.

Stewart Buys Coal Lands Near Williston
Robert L. Stewart, president of the Americation Briquetting and Manufacturing Co., closed a deal Tuesday to own 2801 acres of coal land near Williston, located in Sec. 9-155-160, formerly owned by Wm. Snyder, for 15000 dollars. The purchase signals the company’s plan to move machinery and start the plant soon.

Four Prisoners Escape From Jail
Four of five prisoners convned in the county jail escaped last Thursday by digging through the foundation with a stick and a file. The escape occurred from basement rooms on the south side and involved removing mortar to create a large opening. A night watchman spotted one inmate and found the hole. Sheriff Lampman led a search, but the four men remained at large. Names given: Nelson, Arthur Brown, Paul Sanford, and Geo Lee, with descriptions and charges noted.

Sixty three Club Meet at Atterbury and Asbury Homes
A Friday afternoon party hosted by Mrs Atterbury and Mrs Asbury drew many guests. Seventy three players competed seven tables in 63. Flinch engaged several players at one table while Mrs West captured the top prize a china plate. Mrs A A Bradley won the consolation souvenir spoon. Refreshments followed in graceful style.
