Members of the M. E. church and guests enjoyed a banquet and program in the Odd Fellows hall. Rev. Hollett former pastor, was guest of honor and spoke. After readings talks and songs the church trustees burned the mortgage on the property marking debt freedom.

Senator Borah urged the senate to drop other business and act now on a national preparedness program amid the Villa pursuit in Mexico. Chairman Chamberlain warned the U S Army lacks sufficient troops and equipment to handle Mexico, predicting a potential Mexican rally around Villa.

City Slashes Water Rates for Metered Users

The City Commission approved meter based water charges of 20 cents per 1000 gallons with a $1 minimum monthly fee and required meters by the first of the month. The meeting also read a theatre license ordinance reducing monthly license from 15 to 1 dollars.

Last Big Farmers Meet Held Monday in Williston

The Great Northern Railway agricultural extension plans a large farmers meeting at Odd Fellows hall on Monday March 20 at 1 30 PM. Prof Shaw and Prof Crane of the Great Northern, H R Smith and E A Wilson will attend along with other agricultural leaders to discuss practical farming topics. Over 200 invitations have been sent to farmers clubs and individuals in the county.

Deer Rescued From Missouri Flood Ice Near Williston

A dozen deer including nine bucks and three does were rescued from icy Missouri river flats near Williston after flood and sudden freezes trapped them on thin ice. Game Warden E B McCutcheon and Captain Bailey led a crew to haul the animals to town where they will be kept and protected.
