Rousing meeting of Williams County business men

A rousing meeting at Williston Land Company offices discussed prizes for the next Grain Growers Convention, forming a Business Men's Club, and the Good Seed Train visit. A prize list for the farmers’ institute was urged, with committees formed to solicit subscriptions and publish details in the Graphic. The secretary was to contact state clubs for by laws as Williston moves toward organizing a local Business Men's Club within weeks.

Williston Water Users Election Unanimous

The Williston Water Users Association held a Saturday election to empower President Metzger and Secretary Brown to sign contracts with the Interior Secretary. Forty eight votes, representing 5900 shares or over half the land, approved. Supervising Engineer Savage aided the process. contracts to be sent to Interior soon, with water delivery hoped by next spring, possibly this fall for some users.

The Williston Concert Band presents a St Patrick’s dance tomorrow night at the Bruegger Opera House. The band promises premier selections and a first class supper in the hall. Wearin o the Green is urged with Shamrocks and festive spirit. A bridge project progresses with men unloading ties. two bridges planned across the lake and Mission Bay.

New Williston Telephone Office To Be Built At Graphic Lot

Construction starts soon on a 40 by 25 foot building for the Williston telephone headquarters rear lot next to the Graphic office. The project aims to improve the local telephone system and will include a new switch board as crews complete the site. Weather permitting a larger Devils Lake bridge is planned for April.

The private hospital of Dr Dachsmans was relocated last week on Wednesday to the Dahl building, east of its former site. The move, due to lack of room, increases capacity to admit more patients in the new location.

Good Seed Special on Great Northern Tour to Aid Farmers

Preparations for the Great Northern Railway Good Seed Special are complete with an itinerary announced. The ten day journey starts Monday March 12 from Larimore and will visit about seventy towns, teaching grain experts and methods to improve yields, seed grading, and smut prevention using formaldehyde. Lectures will be in halls or coach cars, featuring professors Shaw Kaufman Bolley Churchill Hoverstad and Litchard, aiming to help farmers with practical, science based instruction.

Teachers exam shows ten outsiders seeking county teaching posts

Thirteen teachers sat the examination in this city Saturday under county superintendent E R Brownson and Deputy Wester gard. Notably ten teachers came from outside the county to obtain certificates, all young people moving to the area to teach while on their land.
