Nelson Valley Alfalfa Picnic Promises Regional Gathering

The Nelson Valley Farmers Club invites all farmers and local businesspeople to its Alfalfa Picnic on June 27 at H. A. Nelson’s 130 acre alfalfa farm in Williams County. Speakers include Crane on Effective Co operation Allen on Alfalfa under Dry land conditions Willard on Williams and McKenzie Counties Hoke on Live Stock and Alfalfa. After dinner, entertainment features two bands and a ball game.

Burns Hearing Held Friday In McIntosh County

Samuel Burns faced a preliminary hearing Friday before Justice Panger at McIntosh Ferry for the murder of H. N. Sexae. About fifteen witnesses testified identifying the deceased and Burns was bound over for trial at the October term in McKenzie County with no bail. He remains jailed in Williston after being transported there.

Twenty six pass examinations in North Dakota bar exam

Ivan Metzger returned from Grand Forks after passing the final law course exam. Twenty six candidates were admitted to the bar Monday before Chief Justice Spalding and others. Spalding urged high moral character and warned against sharp practice as essential to a lawyer’s standing. Of 31 exam takers, five failed. seven hailed from Grand Forks. Burdick Special Train Impresses Crowds Across State

The Burdick Special train promoting U L Burdick’s bid for governor drew large crowds from Grand Forks to Rugby and Devils Lake. Attorne y Burdick spoke at each stop while the Williston Concert Band and Fifer Perkins provided music. Fans applauded in Minot Rugby Grand Forks and Berthold as the group returned home Wednesday evening.

June Wedding in Angie Unites McGill and Huss Couple

Donald L. McGill and Miss Anna Huss of Angie were married at the Congregational Parsonage by Rev. E. B. Shaw on Monday at 8 P.M. The ring service marked the ceremony attended by Albert Huss and Elsie Petty. McGill, a Williams County farmer, will reside in Angie after a brief visit in Williston as friends extend congratulations.

Kindergarten Term Set By Local Women

Miss E. M. Malloy of Minneapolis and Mrs O J Larson will teach a six week kindergarten term at the central school this summer starting next Monday June 29. A five dollar fee is charged for the term. For more information call 217 blue.

Convention Is Noted For Growth And Community Effort

The Williams County Sunday School Association held a three day convention at the Congregational church with strong programs, reports, and regional turnout. Notable speakers included Rev. Peter A. Snow and Mrs. Danenhower, with a grand rally at Gromotka's Grove drawing about 250 attendees from nearby communities. The event emphasized better methods and organization for Sunday School work and concluded with plans for extensive work in the year ahead. Also announced is the twenty fifth wedding anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. E. S. Shaw, celebrated July 8, noting their long service across multiple towns and roles within the Congregational church community.
