Two Ray Men Drowned Crossing Reservoir
J C Pinney and J R Overmeyer, two Ray businessmen, were drowned when a raft overturned while the four men tried to stretch a fishing net across the Great Northern Reservoir west of Town. Collins and Fosse survived, but Pinney and Overmeyer sank before rescue arrived. A coroner’s inquiry was held by Dr Distad and funeral plans were not yet made.

Mrs C T Olson died Saturday evening at Northwestern Hospital Minneapolis from delayed shock after a second operation ten weeks after an earlier procedure She was born October 25 1890 and married C T Olson September 19 1912 Survivors include her husband her parents Rev L C Johnson a brother Edwin Johnson and two sisters Louise Martinson and Victoria Hansen Funeral services were held Monday morning by Rev A Johansen with Norse choir singing in Norwegian and English Sympathy to the bereaved from friends.

A massive spruce trunk sourced from Washington will be erected near the Great Northern station in Williston to serve as a community flagstaff. Gifted by Tons Hill of the Great Northern in honor of his father, the late James J. Hill, the staff will reach about 100 feet, displaying Old Glory to greet arriving train passengers. It is expected other GN division points will also fly the Stars and Stripes at prominent station grounds.

O S Lesselyoung a salesman for Consumers Service and Supply Co was found guilty of false pretenses in Crosby district court after being arrested in Wildrose in 1915. The case, venued from Williams county, involved farmers paying 150 dollars each for supposed farming savings. States Attorney Owens led the prosecution and defense was by John Burke.

Traveling Men Still Shooting At Williston Gun Club
The Commercial Mens Gun Club of Williston held their third shoot at their northeast of the city range on Sunday morning June 17. A new thirty foot flag pole and large flag were installed so the club now shoots under Old Glory. Trespassers damaged the grounds last week and will be prosecuted. Friendly invitation extended to spectators Sunday mornings during shooting. Scores showed improvement and promised stronger shooters by season end.

Battery Expert Joins Williston Station Service Dept
E S Jasperson of Cleveland arrived this week to head the service department at Williston Electric Construction company Wil lis station.
