Children’s Day is planned for June 19 at the Congregational church. Sherry family from Delano Minn arrive to settle at once. T C Jones of Buford visited on business and bought a mowing outfit. Ludwig Schmid filed a homestead entry in township 153 range 99. S C Stewart nears occupancy on a plastered residence. Mrs N Bellinger builds a new house on Main street. Geo Jones known as Slim opens a new business in the Truax building at Main. Billy Snyder’s store is sided and inner plastering proceeds. E R Brownson hired as cook for Hedderich Brothers round up and left for Culbertson Mont. Western Union messenger boy to be added to local telegraph service.

Hedderich Leaves for Culbertson Range Round-Up

G M Hedderich departed Monday afternoon for Culbertson Montana to join the Hedderich herd round-up. Mrs J C Collins and her children, related to Conductor Collins, arrived the previous Saturday and reside now at the Hotel Great Northern. John M McGee appointed master mechanic of this Great Northern division, an experienced former newspaper man described as a pleasant, courteous gentleman.

Beatty's Organs 35 Marae Picnic At Bruegger's Grove

The Stony Creek district school term ended with a large basket picnic at Bruegger's grove despite threatening showers. Pupils from Waldron's school performed recitations and songs, Miss Florence Dunn won the spelling contest, and Miss Emma Dahl read the newspaper. The event was hosted by Daniel F. Beatty in Washington New Jersey.

G W Newton and Paul Schierbeck requested use of the schoolhouse for Fourth of July dancing. motion granted then withdrawn after law reference. Board adjourned.

The report compares Habana New Orleans and Washington temperatures rainfall and rainy season data, noting summer highs and seasonal rainfall patterns. The Fourth of July celebrations include about 300 dollars in prizes. Mr Lee Ford and family arrived from the east to visit William Ford in Grinnell and then the Ford family in Missouri River area.
