President Wilson declares a shift from watchful waiting to a vigorous policy toward fractional Mexican leaders. He warns that unless a united government is formed quickly, the United States will decide on means to help Mexico save itself and its people. School Apportionment Totals Shared by County and State

The apportionment for the quarter ending in May totals 31788112 dollars with 2544.96 from the state and 9236.16 from the county. Fifty two districts receive funds and Willieton gets 3900.76. Distribution based on 8958 pupils yields 4.52 per capita.

Church Board Meeting Plans New Building and Finances

The M. B. church board met Monday with Dr. A. 3. Asher presiding. The building committee’s plans and specs for the new church were endorsed. A finance committee was authorized to draw up a subscription list and solicit funds. Building to start if conditions permit. old church and furniture sale discussed. deaconess engagement for Williston charge left to superintendent and pastor.

A regular Eastern Star meeting is held on June tenth with initiation planned. Members are urged to attend.

Graphic Williston contest awards Dodge car prizes

The Williston Graphic launches a subscription contest with hundreds of dollars in prizes for women in Williston and area. Grand prize is a 1915 five passenger Dodge touring car. second grand prize is a Panama-Pacific Exposition trip or $250 cash. Eight additional prizes follow, all awarded by merit with weekly vote tallies and ongoing updates in the paper.

State Sunday School Meet to be Held in Minot

The State Sunday School Convention is set for Minot on the 15th to 17th of this month. A special train from Williston may carry delegates, with the Williston band possible to join. National speakers include Mai Lawrance of Chicago, Dr. W. F. Crafts of Washington, D. C., and E. W. Thornton of Cincinnati Ohio.

Gospel Meetings Set With Two Sessions

Gospel meetings will be held in June at Rose on nicelbones at 11 A M and in Summit Schoolhouse at 3 P M with Halfpenny leading.

Enthusiasm at Good Road Meet In Williston

A large attendance filled the court house last Saturday for a good roads meeting. G B Metzger was named chairman and F P Bergman secretary. June 17 was set as county good roads day with an annual June third observance each year. Williston Commercial Club offered 50 dollars for first and 25 dollars for second prizes to the Farmers Club with the best road work. Each club to choose roads and notify the secretary to coordinate volunteers.

G B Meteger and W C Rawson lead the Commercial Club road talks with town officials while farmers club members including B Keitl W H Posey Howard Lampman and others pledge to back road work. Some citizens offer rides for workers, and road work crews prepare for Road Week. Man Killed in Auto Crash Near Williston

Nels Peterson a well known Williams county farmer died Sunday evening when the Ford runabout he rode in with Ole Helland struck a rock, left the road, and flipped. Peterson was crushed by the steering wheel and died instantly. Helland was not seriously injured. Funeral services were held at the Danish church twelve miles northwest of Williston. Pherrin district voted to consolidate, with plans for a new building.

Williams County Sunday school convention hailed a success

The Williams County Sunday school convention held in this city last Thursday and Friday was praised as the best yet in attendance interest and achievement. A large parade preceded by a band drew six to seven hundred people despite rain. A Friday banquet raised 159 for county work. New districting was approved dividing the county into three districts with officers elected for each.

Married Tuesday Night John Wolfe von Neida Weds Miss Preble

John Wolfe von Neida and Miss Rachel Catherine Preble united in marriage Tuesday at the brides home in Minot. Rev. James N. MacKenzie performed the ceremony. A wedding supper followed and the couple left for Bismarck to visit the groom’s parents. Both are well known in Williston where Miss Preble has long resided and von Neida works in the Great Northern ticket office.

Black Box serial to open at Orpheum Theatre Friday

The first episode of Universal's latest serial The Black Box will be shown at the Orpheum Theatre on Friday and Saturday matinees and a Saturday night showing to coincide with graduation exercises. Future episodes will air on Friday nights and Saturday matinees only.
