Verdict for George DeShon against J H Allen Co
The case on trial last Thursday went to the jury Friday morning and after 21 minutes a verdict for the plaintiff was returned. DeShon was awarded 565.00 plus seven percent interest for commission and wages claimed. Another case, George B Southard of Buford versus Frank J Stiehl, ended with a verdict of 41.25 for the plaintiff. Judge Fisk adjourned early. remaining calendar cases were continued to December term.

Federal League Wins Battle Over Players Contract Clause
The Federal League scored a victory in its war on organized baseball when an appellate court reversed a superior court ruling enjoining pitcher Geo. Johnson of Winnebago, Indiana, from playing with the Kansas City Reds. The ten day clause in the players contract was upheld. The injunction was issued by Judge Foell in the superior court and served while Johnson pitched in a game, at the request of the Cincinnati Nationals, whom Johnson left to join the Federals.
