Proceedings detail multiple property assessments and raises in Williston North Carolina, including adjustments for George Marelioua G B Metzger and others. Board sides with raises and audits, reducing some values and transferring structures, with adjournment set for June 28 1904.
The Williston board met after adjournment led by Mayor Denny. Aldermen Baldwin Belyes Boyd Cox and McChesney attended. LaDue was absent. Berkson's personal property value was raised from 300 to 1000. all real estate and other personal property changes were unanimously adopted. The board adjourned sine die.
A couple, George K. Dixon and his wife, were killed in Chicago when their auto collided with an electric taxi on the Aurora Elgin Chicago line crossing in Austin. The incident prompts state officials to inspect electric road safety. Others note state food inspector Ladd’s campaign against embalmed meats, and local events include North Dakota normal graduates, a La Moure teacher’s marriage, a drowning, editor Bassett’s Montana trip, and a payday crime in a downstate restaurant.
A ten year old boy at Wilton was dragged far after entangling in a broncho’s picket rope as the animal ran away while the boy tried to lead it to water. The boy is recovering and no homes were damaged.
