Almost triple tragedy near Fergus Falls river

In Fergus Falls Minnesota on July 12 a daughter of Andrew Nelson fell into the river and her mother jumped in to save her. Mrs. Nelson and the child drifted away and neighbor Mrs. Raymond dived in to assist but was pulled under. All three clung to one another as Joseph Vogel and helpers on shore rescued them from about fifteen feet of water.

Herbert Wright a crippled harnessmaker shot his wife in Onalaska after she left him then wounded his sister in law Mrs Thorpe at her home where his wife sought shelter. Wright died an hour after the shooting though the two women will recover. In Deadwood South Dakota an unknown man’s decomposed body was found near a tunnel. no missing person matches and the case remains a mystery as police investigate.

Aberdeen, July 12. Charles A. Fisher, long-time resident, died yesterday from stomach convulsions after being ill only twenty minutes. He leaves a mother, the wife of Rev. H. G. Leonard and Mrs. Rev. T. H. Lewis of Fargo. Rev. Merrifield’s lecture on The Happy Life drew praise in multiple localities where delivered.
