Mrs. J. T. Whitted visited the upper room Monday afternoon and students resumed work after a two week vacation. The school will hold a special visiting day on the second and last Fridays of each month to encourage community visits.

Williams County Boy Wins Nation Wide Beet Contest
A 12 year old pupil Julius A Dittmann of Wagner School Nelson District eight miles south of Ray won a 15 jewel Elgin watch with 20 year gold case for growing the largest beet. The monster Long Red Mangel Wurzel Beet weighed 27 pounds 11 ounces and yielded two baskets of feed. Prize funded by the Children s Flower Nession Cleveland Ohio which sponsors six gold watches yearly for school garden champions.

School Seed Contests Encourage Home Gardens Across Williams County

A C Workers Spend Week In County
Eastgate Miss Tda Ratzlaft and B B Bobb of the Better Farming Section of the Agricultural College were in Williston Monday. They planned to attend a farmers meeting at Epping but arrived too late. County agent Hall rejoined them after vacation in Indiana. The group then went to Ray Tuesday for a convention and held meetings at McGregor Wildrose and other northeastern county points.

In Christiania the socialist vote surged in the municipal elections winning 42 of 84 aldermanic seats while conservatives hold 37 and radicals 5.
