Society Notes Highlight Mrs Garske Farewell Party

The Altar Society hosted Mrs Trainor in honor of Mrs Garske who departs soon. Red Cross knitting and conservation formed the entertainment, and Mrs Garske received a set of sterling tea spoons. A luncheon followed by the outcome.

Frederickson Weds Wisconsin Girl in Fon du Lac

The marriage of Chris R. Frederickson of this city to Emma Deyer of Fon du Lac Wisconsin occurred January 10 at the First Baptist Church Fon du Lac. Rev W S Stewart officiated. The couple plans a two week wedding trip and will make Williston their home after February 1.

Robber Kills Four At Camp Funston

Military police hunt a lone attacker after an axe spree at Camp Funston Army Bank. Four men died: C Fuller Winters, John W Jewell, Carl Ohleson, and O M Hill. Wornall, a wounded teller, survived as the robber escaped with cash and Liberty bonds.

Army bank looting tragedy at Camp Funston ends with captain's suicide

The Camp Funston bank looting left four men dead and one wounded after assailants used a hand axe. Captain Lewis R. Whisler of Salina was found dead in his office after shooting himself, following a note to a woman not yet identified. Authorities report the massacre and a subsequent manhunt.
