Water users gather Tuesday to discuss forming a district. Benefits noted include wiping out government liens on land, consolidating lands to reduce per acre costs, enabling use of the government farm loan act, and district directors determining benefited tracts to act accordingly.
A large turnout debated switching from a Water Users Association to an Irrigation District in Montana. Attorney Willis J. Egleston and others argued irrigation would boost Prosperity, reduce land liens, and allow local self-government with majority rule and tax funds.
The United Commercial Travelers Insurance Co faces a jury verdict in favor of Albert Aaberg who was injured April 15, 1915, in a buggy accident. The $1,354.70 award plus interest reflects ongoing medical needs and a pushed settlement effort.
A Federal Food Administrator urges readers to save wheat to support the war effort and suggests using corn and potato based substitutes. The notice includes a mashed potato bread recipe and instructions for baking.

DeMolay Commandery No 10 from Minot assisted in granting the Black Cross degree to eight Crusader Commandery candidates in Williston. New officers include Grant L Conley as Commander and Rev Nelson E Elsworth as Recorder. A social lunch followed. plans talk of a new temple in Williston as conditions allow.
Walter Mills lecturer spoke at the Armory last Saturday for the Nonpartisan League. A fair crowd attended despite weather. Mills argued the league aims to fix state policy by tested proposals, defend government ownership of industries, and advocate farmers’ interests against landlords and bank control.
A shipment of one hundred dollars worth of tobacco was sent to members of Company E as letters from soldiers overseas express a need for tobacco. Townsfolk plan a monthly shipment drive, with cigar boxes placed around to collect funds for buying tobacco. The project aims to ease the soldiers’ access to American tobacco, scarce and costly abroad.
