Madison January 7 Gov R M La Follette was sworn in for his second term as Wisconsin governor at noon in the assembly chamber. About 1 200 inside and 80 more outside attended the ceremony. Chief Justice Cassady gave the oath. He was introduced by R M Bashford and welcomed by ex Gov George W Peck. An informal reception followed in the executive office with Peck presiding.

Marshfield Wisconsin January 7 during funeral services for G A Lyplen an old soldier a defective furnace set fire to the floor under the casket crowd moved toward the doors and the coffin was carried over the seats. On return from the graveyard the Rev Mr McKinney officiating pastor was struck by a runaway team and seriously injured in the incident.

North Dakota buttermakers are expected to attend to participate. Iowa Dairy Commissioner Wright will speak as a prominent figure from surrounding states. A cash fund will be divided pro rata for the butter exhibit. The meeting program will be released soon.

In San Francisco a sensational incident marked the trial of Truxton Beal and Thomas Williams. Williams, identified with the California Jockey Club, produced a revolver and a large dagger when questioned about weapons.
