Arthur Granlund won the sweepstakes prize of 50 dollars with 108 1 8 bushels per acre on sandy loam soil in Ransom County. Clarence Knudson took first prize in the Northern Section with 74 bushels per acre on timber land near the river. Contestants used home grown seed, early planting, manure, and well prepared seed beds, with North Western dent the popular variety. prizes totaling 370 dollars were awarded to 1st prize winners and participants.
