Married Sunday in Carrington

Moses of the Orioles wed Ruth E Sheehy in Carrington Sunday evening. Rev Father Hurt performed the ceremony. Moses, formerly of Herman Minnesota, has lived in Williston four years while working at J Creaser Pharmacy. Mrs Moses is sister to Mrs George Leonhardy of Williston. They will reside at 715 First Avenue West Nolan home soon, as friends wish them smooth sailing ahead.

Roosevelt Enthusiasm Marks North Dakota Convention

A large Roosevelt rally in Grand Forks drew over 300 party representatives from across the state. Resolutions endorsed his candidacy and pledged North Dakota support for Theodore Roosevelt in the March 19 primary. Attending locals included Samuel Weathy, S. M. Hydle, Nick Hayes, and J. Linde.

Peaceful End of a Beautiful Life in Williston

Mrs. Frank S. Hollett died peacefully after bidding her family farewell at her bedside. Eliza Mercer Hollett, a Newfoundland teacher and Labrador mission partner, came to North Dakota a decade ago with her husband and daughter, spending over six years in Williston. Her passing drew deep tribute from religious groups and the community, with her funeral held at the church accompanied by Scripture readings and hymn.

New Observer Wood Replaces Lathrop in Lincoln Station

New Observer C S Wood of Lincoln Nebraska arrived Wednesday to take the place of Observer Lathrop who leaves for New Haven Connecticut as assistant observer at that station. Wood has been at Lincoln briefly and was formerly observer at Phoenix Arizona and served at Mt Reserch Observatory Virginia and St Haerford Connecticut. Lathrop proceeds to his new field immediately.

All subscribers of stock in the Williston Convert Band Association are notified of a meeting on Monday evening February 26 in the banquet rooms at the Odd Fellows hall. Surveyors Arrive for Great Northern Expedition in McKenzie Co

The Great Northern survey party of twelve men led by Engineer Barstow arrived from St. Paul and camped west and north of the Little Missouri. A second group proceeded toward Mondak while delays occurred shipping a portion of the outfit toward Montana. Operators expect surveys along the Sidney crossing Yellowstone route into McKenzie County with broader planned activities beyond that area.

Fargo Subport Proposed for Fargo North Dakota

Washington February 17 Rep Hanna introduced a bill to make Fargo a sub port of entry in the North and South Dakota customs district. Treasury officials back the idea noting Fargo is growing as a jobbing center with regular shipments such as carloads of fish. Under bond these goods could enter Fargo reducing duties now collected in New York.

Popular pastor will leave city for new parish

Rev C Bertram Ruinulla of St Peters Episcopal church will end his pastorate in this city after Easter services on April 7. He has accepted a rector post at St Peters church in West Milwaukee, with his first service on April 14. Since taking charge November 1, 1910 he has expanded the communion list, added a choir, and advanced church work while fostering broad friendships beyond creed. The new field is a virile Milwaukee suburb two miles from downtown, a growing residential district with a young parish active in social work. A curate will be appointed in May.

Roosevelt Leads For Placing Name In Presidential Nominations

February 17 reports show Theodore Roosevelt leading petitions to place his name on the presidential primary ballot in March. La Follette follows, Taft appears with enough support to secure ballot inclusion, and Burke is the sole Democratic petitioner. Official counts were incomplete though Roosevelt’s lead is clear with about 9,358 Roosevelt petitions versus under 1,000 La Follette petitions.
