Williston Bowlers Prepare for Minot Match Friday

H C Sawyer Ben s and Thomas B Hogan lead a Williston three man bowling team to Minot on No 4 to face Minot’s best at Monson Alley. They aim for victory and plan a return match with last week’s opponents while exploring a five man charity tilt to foster local support for the Minot affiliated ABC and the spring 1919 state tournament. Interest grows in the city tournament to be held in Minot on the 17th to 19th of the month.

Elk Lodge to Renew Dining Hall for 50th Anniversary

Secretary W. J. O Rourke of the Williston B P O E says the Elk lodge marks its fiftieth anniversary on Feb 16 with a new basement dining room ready for service. When finished the new hall will be one of the finest Elk's lodges in North Dakota and reflect credit on the city.

Tioga Loses to Williston on Tioga Floor

Williston quintet defeated Tioga 36 to 12 in a fast low-scoring county tilt on Tioga high gym floor. Ray Farmer Killed Under Overturned Sleigh in Minnesota

A farmer named Ray Sorenson living several miles from town died when his oats laden sleigh overturned burying him under grain. His brother, who was with him, was badly hurt and taken for medical aid. They attempted to move grain between sleds, but the sleigh tipped on a sloped road trapping the men. A second report notes a death and severe injury among the group. A convention fee notice then announces a Y M C A state committee call for a Grand Forks gathering on Saturday February 9 to promote wartime efforts among troops and cantonments. Lead speakers include Dr. McAfee and A E Roberts. The event aims to shape state Y M C A policy and extend Association work across the state. Dr F W MacManus visited Minot on business Monday.
