The third annual winter Short Course runs Tuesday through Friday next week with broad county turnout promised. County Agent Hall and the planning committee have secured top speakers as weather cooperates, and the court house will host sessions due to auditorium delays.
District court adjourned Friday with several cases postponed to the next term due to extreme weather. The jury praised Judge Fisk for courtesy enabling their home departures, noting May jur y term possible. The Williston jury signed a resolution of appreciation to His Honor Frank E. Fisk, with committee members listed.

The Williams County State Bank corner shows the post and globe style to be used. The Ladies Did the Honors at a Leap Year party in Odd Fellows Hall featured escorts arranging sleighs, supper, and return rides for the gentlemen, marking a festive city event.
A prominent business man who returned from Minneapolis quotes President Pennington of the Loons saying surveys are abandoned and the plan is to follow the Missouri river at least to Tobacco Garden creek. No start date announced for this side according to the McKenzie County Journal.

London reports fifty four persons killed and sixty seven injured in last night's Zeppelin raid on England. Bombs fell on several towns and rural Derbyshire Leicestershire Lincolnshire and Staffordshire with property damage. Seven or eight Zeppelins joined the raid aimed at Manchester and other munition centers. This was the largest air raid on England to date.
The Second Annual Tournament of the North Dakota State Checker Association will be held at the Parlors of the Commercial Club in Fargo on February 22 and 23. All state residents are invited. suitable prizes will be awarded. Those planning to attend should notify secretary A. P. Jones of Hankinson, North Dakota.
