Mrs. F. M. Harvey announces the establishment of a bakery in the former Mrs. P. H. Russell restaurant building in Williston. She advertises bread pies cakes doughnuts boiled ham and other baked goods with prices and offerings including mince pies and short order lunches upon request. November 7 1896.

Harry Hayward Hanged in Minnesota Execution

On Wednesday morning December 11 Harry Hayward was hanged at Minneapolis after being counseled for the murder of Catharine Alter. At the scaffold he told the sheriff his last words, Pull it tight. I stand put. His neck was not broken and after 13 minutes physicians declared him dead from strangulation.

Hayward Convicted in Noted Minnesota Murder Case

Harry Hayward was found guilty of planning and aiding the murder of Catharine Ging to secure life insurance loans. The crime, once a major mystery, involved Blai Blaix and a seven week trial, with appeals delaying the execution date until Gov. Clough set June 21.

North Dakota Immigration Convention Call Issued
