Bank of Rothsay Burglary Nets $3700 After Violent Explosions
In Rothsay Minnesota on December 10 a burglary smashed the bank vault and adjacent office door. Thieves used a sledge hammer and explosions to blow open a vault and a safe, leaving pennies and a $50 purse amid wreckage. They stole steam from a barn and escaped with about $3700. The insured bank reported full coverage, with detectives linking the crime to earlier regional robberies.
